ITINERARY

Day 1 – Marrakech
Marrakech MuseumsAfter your arrival at Marrakech airport, you will be escorted by your tour leader to your charming riad/hotel in Marrakech.

An enchanting palm oasis set against the rise of the snowy High Atlas Mountains, Marrakech is Morocco’s second oldest majestic imperial city and retains the splendor of its ancient past. Buildings are blushed in hues of rosy earth, and horse-drawn carriages clip along broad avenues lined with palms and tropical fruit trees. Donkeys carrying carts trawl past fragrant rose and jasmine gardens.

Your certified guide will reveal the secrets of the ancient Bahia Palace from the days of the harem, now populated by a sentry of nesting storks. Explore the vibrant and historic Jewish Mellah, where some of the finest jewelry is found in Morocco, and view the majestic Koutoubia Mosque before entry into the ancient Market to explore and to have a cup of tea with one of the local artisans to be as close to the culture as possible. Step into the ancient Ben Youssef University for a special visit before you continue Exploring the ancient Medina.

Day 2 – Marrakech
Morning ride around the ancient city wall passing by the Royal Palace, the Agdal Garden, and Marrakech palm grove where you will take a camel ride at the desert of Marrakech if you wish (optional on your own). To follow with a special visit to the famous Majorelle Garden.

Lunch with the locals at one of the restaurants at Jamaa Elfna Square on your own.

Rest of the day to do as you may wish with the help of your Tour Leader.
The last-minute shopping at the souk

The heartbeat of the night fills the old city’s famed square, Djemaa el-Fna, where the delectable grilled fare is served in the bustling torch-lit open-air market. Mystical snake charmers, hustlers, and mischievous monkeys are part of the nightly drama unfolding as Berber acrobats, fortune tellers, musicians, and engaging storytellers seduce rapt crowds. Wend your way through the serpentine labyrinth of the spice-filled air of the bustling souk, unchanged for over 1000 years, where you’ll discover the best of traditional Moroccan craftsmanship.

You may want to cap off your journey at the Fantasia Dinner event in the desert of Marrakech as an option. “Your Tour Leader will assist”

Day 3 – Essaouira
Essaouira TourA free day to enjoy Essaouira with the help of your guide.

You will make a special stop at one of the Argan Oil Cooperatives on the way to Essaouira.

Music legends Jimmy Hendrix and the Rolling Stones were drawn to Essaouira’s
idyllic charm, which continues to lure artists and musicians alike today to the sparkling whitewashed village trimmed with the brilliant azure of its skies. A former Portuguese settlement in the 18th century, and a current fishing village, its stone ramparts overlook an emerald sea fringed with miles of silvery beach where camels ferry passengers across fine sand. Stroll through serene squares, browse artisan shops and peruse art galleries before having a spectacular lunch by the sea, where freshly caught fish of the day is grilled to a succulent finish before your eyes. Top it off with famous Moroccan mint tea and delectable French pastries at Essaouira’s many cafes.

A full day will be spent at Essaouira. Optional camel ride or horse riding at the beach on your own for half an hour or so in the afternoon.

Evening Cooking workshop at the rooftop restaurant of your riad with ocean view. You will get to learn how to make a fish Tagine, Mediterranean salad, and Moroccan desert.

Day 4 – Ourika Valley – Berber Villages
Morning drive to the Berber village / High Atlas Mountains.

You ride through the Ourika Valley that rises gently up to the preliminary hills of the High Atlas where small typical villages have nested. It is a pure and magnificent place where silence is only ” disturbed ” by birds singing, water streams, and wagtails. Ourika is famous for its pottery, minerals, and crystal.

Afternoon to enjoy your charming Kasbah and to tour the old Jewish Berber village Anrar where your Kasbah is located. a special visit for a cup of tea with a Berber family.

You will visit one of the artisans in the village to teach you how to make some Berber pottery.

Highest Mountain Morocco
Day 5 – Berber Villages / High Atlas Mountains
Trekking the High Atlas MountainsOption 1:
– You will start your day with a special visit to one of the aromatic gardens of the valley.
– A visit to the salt mining of the valley
– You will explore some of the hidden Berber villages as well in the area
– If it is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday you will visit one of the weekly ancient markets where all Berbers of the valley meet to trade and do their weekly shopping.
– Berber Lunch Tagine at the souk with the locals

Afternoon, short drive to Seti Fathma Village with an option to relax by the river over a cup of tea or to take a couple of hours to walk to one of its hidden waterfalls.

Option 2:
A day trekking to explore the hidden Berber Villages + Lunch with a Berber family

Short drive from our Berber village Anrar at Douar Tafza until we reach the Berber hamlet of Oualmes (1150m) to start our 5-hour hike across the river and up along a narrow winding hillside path surrounded by fields of corn towards Anins and the through the col (1670m)
where you have lunch with a Berber family at the Berber village of Tizin-Oucheg
. From here You’ll continue your Berber adventure to explore the hidden village of Agard then to Anamer village followed by a short trek that would bring you back to Tazintoute village at 1148m)  where you shall cross the Assif Ourika to get to your vehicle for your return to your Anrar village around 6.00 pm in the evening.

Day 6 – Marrakech
Morning 40 min drive to either Marrakech airport or to anywhere you may wish to be dropped off in Marrakech.

If you were flying in or out of Casablanca airport, we will be more than happy to arrange for your transfer for an extra cost. It is about 2h & 1/2 drive.
